Welcome to Building You Better, home of the Heroes In Training movement. My mission is to inspire and inform you to help you become your best self and live your best life, with an emphasis on mindset, determination, and application. We’ll talk about exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. In addition to my own content, I’ll also share guest posts from other experts, book reviews, and links to helpful resources. You can sign up for the Heroes In Training email newsletter to be notified when new content is available, and also to receive exclusive resources.
So who is this website for? Well, hopefully, it’s for you, random-person-scouring-the-internet-for-fitness-advice. If you are interested in improving your life by developing a strong mind and a strong body, then I’m here to help. If you’re looking for a quick fix, or a crazy trick to get you beach-ready without giving up any of your favorite foods, then this website is probably not for you. I believe in real, helpful information, not clickbait promises. Also, I won’t be focusing on specific sports or training styles. Instead, I’ll bring you techniques and strategies from a variety of fitness disciplines to help you achieve all-around health and fitness.
Maintaining your health and fitness isn’t easy. But it doesn’t have to be as hard as some people make it. I know I’ve wasted a lot of time in the gym because I didn’t know what I was doing, or how to line my actions up with my goals. Now, my mission with this website and related publications is to keep you from wasting your time like I did. The road to building your best self is long enough; I’m here to make sure you don’t make it any longer than it has to be. So, if the articles on the blog don’t seem like the right place to start, you can download The Hero Training Guide below. This free ebook is a great introduction to the Building You Better philosophy, and focuses on the start of your fitness journey.
If you want even more Heroes In Training content, my book A Hero’s Guide to Lifting Weights is available on Amazon. Learn how weightlifting works, from the muscles and joint in your body to common equipment you can expect to find at your local gym. You’ll also learn the difference between compound and isolation movements, and how to perform many of the most effective exercises. Available in paperback and Kindle versions at the link below.
